What is Physical Literacy at this stage?
Ideally by this stage children have developed the basic skills and now have the opportunity to have a go at all types of activities. A multi-skills approach to delivery will allow children to apply their skills into any environment and become a multi-skilled individual.
What can I do to play my part?
As a practitioner you should be aiming to build on the skills already learned through Play to Learn. The Dragon Multi-skills and Sport resource follows on developmentally being aimed at children in the primary phase aged 7-11 years. The ethos of the Dragon Multi-skills approach is for young people to develop key physical skills that are applicable to and transferable across a range of different sports. The Dragon Sport element of the resource then enables children to transfer their basic physical skills into more sport specific activities.
